It is an IV, so slight pain from the needle is possible but most find it barely noticeable.
-
IV Vitamin Therapy can be a one-off to recover from an illness, jet lag or other life circumstance, or may become part of your overall wellness routine. The noticeable physical effects tend to last up to 10 days and it is suggested to return every four to six weeks for optimal benefit.
-
If you have chronic conditions such as heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, and/or on-going cancer treatment we encourage you to discuss IV therapy with your specialist prior to your initial consultation with our team. IV therapy is considered an alternative medicine and while the benefits of IV therapy are very well documented in literature, the decision to proceed with therapy is highly individualized.
-
We recommend that our patients spread out the frequency of their IV therapy by a minimum of four weeks. If we are specifically treating a deficiency, we may be able to perform more frequent IV administrations but may require routine laboratory workup.
Iron Infusions FAQ:
-
Yes, we need to review recent (within 3 months) blood work, including ferritin levels. This helps us determine if you may be a candidate for an infusion.

-
The virtual consultation is $50. The iron infusion is $350. The medication (we exclusively use Monoferric) is $561, without prescription coverage. The actual cost may vary depending on your insurance coverage, if any.
-
No, you can book a consultation with one of our nurse practitioners without a doctor's referral!
-
Iron deficiency is diagnosed through blood tests, checking two key markers: Ferritin and Transferrin saturation.
Ferritin, found in cells like the liver, stores iron. Low levels of Ferritin (below 30) indicate low iron stores.
Transferrin carries iron to where it's needed, like the bone marrow. In deficiency, it becomes empty, leading to low 'T stats.'
-
New iron formulations allow safe 'total dose' infusions, replenishing iron stores rapidly in about 30 minutes. This method is much faster than iron tablets, which can take months.
Typically, doctors prescribe 500mg-1000mg of iron for a total dose infusion. This corrects iron levels swiftly. Improvement, like reduced tiredness and better energy, can be felt within days.
-
Typically, your body holds around 3000mg of iron, mainly in red blood cells and muscles. Your spleen helps maintain these iron levels by recycling it. Normally, a small daily intake of 8-27 mg from your diet keeps your iron stores healthy. But if you lack iron, you'll need more to maintain good levels.
-
The infusion typically takes about 45 minutes. Plan to be at our clinic for about an hour to ensure all questions are answered before the infusion.
